Tioga County Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY — The only two teams left standing in our coverage area — Owego and Newark Valley — vie tonight for a berth in their respective Section IV girls basketball championship games this weekend.

Section IV Playoffs
Class A Semifinals
5-Owego (9-12) at Johnson City (17-3), 7:30 p.m.: The River Hawks are coming off a 58-44 win over fourth-seeded Oneonta Sarturday, while the Wildcats dropped a 38-27 decision to Chenango Forks in the STAC championship game two weeks ago.
The winner advances to the Class A championship game Sunday at the Visions Arena.
Class C Semifinals
5-Unatego (15-5) vs. 1-Newark Valley (17-4), 7:30 p.m. 2 TCCC: The Cardinals are coming off a 45-43 win over Southern Cayuga Saturday in the Class C quarterfinals, while Unatego rolled to a 54-30 win over O-M.
The winner advances to Saturday's Class C championship game at Tompkins-Cortland Community College.
