SECTION IV GIRLS BOWLING: NEWARK VALLEY'S HARTMAN WINS CLASS C GOLD; CARDINALS PLACE FIFTH (2025-02-21)

VESTAL — Rachel Hartman won individual Class C gold, and led Newark Valley to a fifth-place finish here Friday at the Section IV, Class C Championships at Midway Lanes.

Windsor claimed the Class C title with 2,716 pins, while Oxford-Greene was second with 2,639 pins, Waverly was third at 2,433, Union Springs / Port Byron was fourth at 2,328, and Newark Valley tallied 2,288 pins.

Despite the fifth-place finish, the Cardinals will compete as a team at the Section IV State Qualifier by virtue of its IAC Large School Division regular-season title.

Hartman rolled a 606 series, including a high game of 212, while Lyla Dufresne shot a 460 for the Cardinals, including a 186, and Abigail Dufresne had a 435.

Brook Illsley added a 426 for the Cardinals, and MaeAnna Jackson tacked on a 361.

The Section IV State Qualifier is Friday at Waverly's Valley Bowling Center.
