Tioga County Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY — More than 130 wrestlers from Section IV, including those from SVEC, Owego, Tioga and Waverly, will converge on Waverly High School Saturday for the Section IV Championships. They will vie for a berth at the inaugural NYSPHSSA Championships.
GIRLS WRESTLING
SVEC, Owego at Section IV Championships, 10 a.m. @ Waverly H.S.: SVEC junior Tayah Beach is a top seed, and her teammate, sophomore Dallas Bohling, is a 2-seed at today's Section IV Championships.
Eighth-grader Michaela Daly is the highest speed for the River Hawks as a 3-seed.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Owego (11-7) at Ithaca (2-17), noon (Varsity only): The River Hawks are coming off a 59-49 win over Vestal Friday night, while the Little Red dropped a 61-55 decision to Horseheads Tuesday.
