NEWARK VALLEY — Lyla Dufresne led a balanced Newark Valley girls' line-up in a sweep of Tioga here Thursday afternoon at Cardinal Lanes, while the Tioga boys swept Newark Valley in IAC bowling action.

The Cardinals won the first game 854-705, then followed with closer wins of 719-707 and 744-723 for a total-pinfall win of 2,317 to 2,135.
Dufresne led Newark Valley with a match-high 536 series, including games of 200 and 205, while Rachel Hartman shot a 481, and Brook Illsley rolled a 475.
Abigail Dufresne had a 415 for the Cardinals, while Maeanna Jackson added a 410, and Abigail DeBolt tacked on a 347.
Kelsey Helmich led Tioga with a 507 series.
BOYS

Tioga won the first game 913-774, then followed it up with wins of 957-840, and 845-795 for a total-pinfall win of 2,715 to 2,409.
Devon Green led Newark Valley with a 559 series, including a 232 in the second game, while James Wales shot a 530, and John Sloughter rolled a 473.
William Simmons had a 458 for the Cardinals, while Mason Peck added a 368, and Riley Lavine tacked on a 329.
Nick Slater led Tioga with a 609 series, while Austin Mumbulo rolled a 560, and Garrett Godfrey shot a 550.
