SPENCER — SVEC won five of the seven contested weight classes, and picked up five forfeits in a 60-12 win over Dryden here Wednesday night in IAC Large School wrestling action.
With the score tied at 6-6, junior Kaden Jamison and 8th-grader Gabe Benjamin registered back-to-back second-period falls at 145 and 152 pounds, respectively, to put the Eagles up 18-6.
After three Dryden forfeits in a row extended the lead to 36-6, sophomore 215-pounder Kaden Sims notched a second-period fall, and sophomore Jak Smith won by fall in 68 seconds at 285 pounds to make it 48-6.
After a Dryden forfeit at 101 (there was no match at 108), the Purple Lions notched a fall at 116 for its final points of the night.
Freshman Brennan scored a 65-second pin at 124 pounds to finish off the evening.
SVEC returns to action this weekend at the Southern Tier Memorial.
