IAC BOYS BASKETBALL: FOSTER'S DOUBLE-DOUBLE LIFTS CANDOR TO 65-38 WIN OVER MARATHON (19 PHOTOS) (2025-01-03)

CANDOR —— Jakobe Foster posted a double-double and two of his teammates scored in double-figures in Candor's 65-38 win over Marathon here Friday night IAC Small School boys basketball crossover action.
Foster had 21 points and 12 rebounds, to go go along with three assists, and eight steals, while Carson Heidl had 13 points and nine rebounds, and Donald Makie scored 12 points.
Matthew Smith added seven points for the Coyotes in the win, while Teagan Kwiatkowski chipped in with five points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots, and Ryan Huizinga grabbed six boards.
Foster started out hot in the opening stanza with 10 points, including a 3-pointer,, and Kwiatkowski and Smith also connected from behind the arc as the Coyotes took an 18-12 lead.
Heidl scored seven points, including a 5-for-6 effort from the free-throw line, to fuel a 14-4 run that gave Candor a 32-16 lead at the half.
Makie scored eight points in the third quarter, including a 3-pointer, while Foster and Heidl each scored four points in Candor's 18-13 spurt that pushed the lead to 50-29 entering the final eight minutes.
Six different Coyotes scored in the fourth quarter, including senior Claas Huenecke, who drained a 3-pointer, as they closed the game with a 15-9 run to provide the final margin.
Candor, now 5-3, will host divisional rival S-VE Tuesday.
