SYRACUSE — Section IV is well-represented in the New York State Sportswriters Association football and soccer rankings this week, with Tioga, Waverly, and Maine-Endwell all No. 1 on the gridiron, and Owego ranked second on the boys soccer pitch.
FOOTBALL
Despite its overtime loss at Maine-Endwell, Waverly (3-1) remains atop the Class C rankings, while Chenango Forks (4-0) bumped up a spot to No. 3. Windsor is ranked 12th.
In Class D, Tioga (3-1) remains atop the rankings, with CSP (Clymer-Sherman-Panama) is No. 2. Both D powerhouse have impressive losses, with Tioga falling to Chenango Forks, and CSP losing at Waverly.
Also in Class D, Bainbridge-Guilford has moved up to No. 6, while Deposit-Hancock has moved up to No. 8. Delhi is an honorable mention.
In Class B, Maine-Endwell (4-0) remains at No. 1, and Owego (3-0) is ranked 13th.
BOYS SOCCER
Owego ranked second in Class A — Brockport (9-0) is atop the rankings. Maine-Endwell is ranked 20th.
GIRLS SOCCER
Waverly is ranked 16th in the Class B rankings, with Watkins Glen at No. 8.
Tioga is ranked 18th in Class C, and Unatego is ranked 12th.
