TIOGA COUNTY — Thursday night football at SVEC headlines the night’s slate of action as the Eagles have the unenviable task of hosting Tioga on the heels of having its 43-game win streak snapped.
Newark Valley will be a busy place this afternoon with the boys soccer, volleyball, and field hockey teams hosting matches, while Owego hosts volleyball and golf matches.
FOOTBALL
Tioga (2-1) at SVEC (1-2), 7 p.m.: The Tigers are coming off a 25-0 loss to state-ranked Chenango Forks, while SVEC dropped a 28-24 decision to Bainbridge-Guilford.
SVEC enters the contest averaging 24.7 points per game, while allowing 29.7. Logan Aman has rushed for 416 yards and six TDs.
Prior to being shut down by Forks, Tioga was averaging 29 points per game, and nearly 300 yards per game on the ground.
