TIOGA CENTER — Noah Banks scored four goals for the second game in a row, this time an 8-0 win over Tioga here Friday evening in IAC boys soccer action at Haggerty Field.
“The team did a much better job moving the ball tonight to find the open man,” said SVEC coach Jason Banks.
“In addition, our defensive line of (Tyler) Greeno, (Clayton) Bower, (Gavin) Bates and (Kyle) Jantz, along with the keeper (Sirron) Irvin, did a great job shutting down Tioga's attack,” added Banks.
Banks gave the Eagles a quick lead with a goal in the third minute, then, off an assist from Claas Hueneck, made it 2-0 in the 12th minutes.
Less than a minute later, Huenecke, off an assist from Banks, made it 3-0.
Banks, off another assist from Huenecke, finished off his hat trick midway through the first half to extend the advantage to 4-0.
Owen Bly, off an assist from Jantz, scored in the 35th minutes to make it 5-0 at the half.
Banks, and Elliott Jahanns — both off assists from Huenecke — scored early in the second half to make it 7-0.
Lantz, off a feed from Bly, wrapped up the scoring.
SVEC had a 23-3 advantage in shots-on-goal, and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
Davie VanDusen recorded 15 saves for the Tigers, and Irvin had two for the Eagles.
SVEC, now 2-0, hosts Tioga Monday.
