ENDWELL — Maine-Endwell took an early lead on its way to a season-opening, 4-0, win over SVEC here Wednesday night in Section IV field hockey action.

Ava Guillou scored in first quarter to give the Spartans a 1-0 lead, then Makenna Cherback scored in second quarter to extend the lead to 2-0.

Sophia Tiberi scored late in the second quarter to make it 3-0, and added an insurance goal in the second half to provide the final margin.

M-E had a 16-4 advantage in shots-on-goal, and a 6-3 edge in penalty corners.

Kaitlyn Klym recorded 13 saves in net for the Eagles.

SVEC returns to action Friday at Windsor.
