Tioga County Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY — The SVEC boys soccer team is on the road for the first non-golf event for a Tioga County team this fall, and the Owego boys golf team is at home in the only action Tuesday.
BOYS SOCCER
SVEC at Whitney Point, 5:30 p.m.: Coming off an 8-5-1 season, the Eagles travel to take on a struggling Whitney Point program in their season-opener.
BOYS GOLF
Horseheads at Owego (1-0), 4 p.m.: The River Hawks are coming off a 25-stroke (236-261) season-opening win over Susquehanna Valley last Tuesday, while the Blue Raiders topped U-E by nine strokes (201-210) on Friday.
Horseheads’ Jake Fesetch won the annual DiNunzio Tournament at En-Joie Golf Course Thursday, and the Blue Raiders finished fourth as a team.
