Tioga County Sports ReportENDICOTT — Duke Snyder logged an 89 to pace the Owego effort at the 29th annual Nick DiNunzio Memorial Tournament at En-Joie Golf Club Thursday.
Hunter Woods was just two strokes behind his teammate with a 91.
Ryan Denton shot a 97, Carter Rieg carded a 103 and Jacob Bensley added a 115 as the River Hawks posted a 495 team score.
Mason Grippen added a non-scoring 119 for Owego, which finished 13th in the 16-team event featuring STAC teams.
Maine-Endwell won the team championship with a 395, edging Binghamton by two strokes. Vestal finished third with a 405, just two strokes ahead of Horseheads.
The Blue Raiders’ Jack Fesetch captured medalist honors with an even-par 72, nipping M-E standout Blaise Brixner (73) and Norwich’s Brevin Bennett (74).
Owego (1-0) hosts Horseheads Tuesday at The Golf Club at Owego Tuesday at 4 p.m.
