SECTION IV ICE HOCKEY: OWEGO TRIO FINDS ICE TIME ELSEWHERE (2024-03-02)

OWEGO — Three Owego athletes enjoyed success this winter playing ice hockey for other Section IV high school teams.

Brendan Schofield: Senior forward for Binghamton He scored 16 goals and handed out four assists for the Patriots during the regular season.

Schofield is a member of the River Hawks’ football and lacrosse teams.

Patrick Tammariello: Senior defenseman at Maine-Endwell. He recorded eight goals and dished out four assists in regular season play.

Tammariello plays golf and baseball at Owego.

Schofield and Tammariello were named Broome County High School Hockey Association all-stars for the 23-24 season.

The duo also plays on the Binghamton Freeze, an 18U travel team that plays a split season in the fall and spring. They won the Salmon River Invitational tournament Feb. 11 against teams from Vermont and New York. They will also be competing in upcoming tournaments in Rochester and Hershey, Pennsylvania in this month.

Colin O'Flanagan: A freshman, he was the starting goalie for Chenango Forks, which won the BCHSHA championship for the third season in a row. He recorded a 12-2 record with an .864 save percentage this season.

Owego does not offer ice hockey as a scholastic sport.
