
NEWARK VALLEY — Trumansburg kept its hopes of an IAC Large School volleyball title alive with a 3-0 victory over Newark Valley Wednesday evening.
The Blue Raiders won by scores of 25-15, 25-15 and 25-14, to improve to 5-1 in division play and kept them close to unbeaten Lansing.
Sailor Ladd recorded a double-double for Tiburg with 15 points (3 aces) and 13 assists. Kaylee Dickerson-Holly chipped in with nine points (6 aces) and two kills; Lauren Millspaugh added six kills, two blocks and two aces; and Lydia Everhart tacked on eight kills and two aces.
For NV, which slipped to 3-4 in division play, Rae Mathewson had eight assists and three digs; Rosie Wandell added two digs, one kill and one ace; and Cha Gardner contributed four digs, two blocks and one assist;
Joslyn Wright recorded seven kills, six digs, an ace and an assist; Laura Ludwig and Jenna Vosburgh had a kill and a dig apiece; HattieSue Hines pitched in with five digs and one kill; Michael Medina added eight digs; and Anaya Aylesworth had one dig.
Newark Valley hosts Edison Friday.
