Tioga County Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY — Several key clashes highlight the events on this week’s schedule which replaces last week as the busiest week to date for the fall athletes. There are 45 events with 24 of those activities being contested at home venues.
Among the highlights are Candor vs. S-VE for the IAC Small School volleyball lead, and SVEC taking on Delhi for what will most likely be the No. 2 seed in Section IV Class D football.
Of course, not be outdone are the soccer teams. The Owego boys seek revenge for a loss to Chenango Valley while the River Hawks have a rematch with Waverly in girls soccer (Owego won the last two meetings by 1-0 verdicts). Meanwhile, the SVEC boys soccer team has key encounters with rival Tioga and Trumansburg.
