Tioga County Sports ReportTIOGA CENTER — Candor and S-VE competed in the Tioga Volleyball Tournament Saturday.
In pool play, the Coyotes posted a 4-4 record on Court 1 in the high school while S-VE was 1-7 on Court 2 in the middle school.
The Court 2 pool consisted of the eventual finalists, Corning and Lansing. The Hawks would win their championship clash, 25-19.
Corning defeated Oneonta in the semifinals, 25-14, and the Bobcats downed Trumansburg, 25-19.
The Court 1 pool consisted of Trumansburg (7-1 record), Oneonta (5-3), Candor, Tioga (3-5) and South Seneca (1-7) out of Section V.
Court 2 participants were Corning (8-0), Lansing (7-1), Chenango Valley (3-5), Dryden (2-6) and S-VE.
Candor returns to IAC action Monday at Trumansburg while S-VE hosts Newark Valley Monday. The Coyotes and Panthers are both 4-0 and are currently the top contenders in the IAC Small School division.
