HOMER — MaKenzie Comparetta and Madison McEvoy teamed up to account for the scoring as Owego recorded its third shutout of the season, blanking Homer, 2-0, in non-conference field hockey action Friday.

The River Hawks headed to Section III looking to move above .500 and did by holding the Trojans at bay at both ends of the field.

McEvoy scored on a feed from Comparetta with 9:30 remaining in the first half.

Comparetta made it 2-0 less than two minutes into the third quarter, tallying on a pass from McEvoy at 13:02.
