OWEGO — Sophia Lee won three events and Kaelyn Katchuk continued her diving dominance in Owego’s 99-60 STAC girls swimming & diving loss to Oneonta Tuesday.
Lee grabbed individual victories in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 58.53 seconds and the 100 breaststroke, clocking 1:26.66.
She was also on the triumphant 200 medley relay with Olivia Schrader, Ava Murphy and Cecilia Clair, which posted a time of 2:11.72 and nipped the Yellowjackets by less than a second in a thrilling meet-opening race.
Katchuk posted her best 6-dive score of the season in the 1-meter springboard competition with 289.4 points. The next closest competitor was teammate Ayla Young, who scored 186.55 points to best a pair of Oneonta divers.
Owego’s other runners-up were Ava Murphy in the 200 individual medley (2:38.85) and 100 butterfly (1:06.86), Natalia Nowetner in the 100 breast (1:45.48), and the 200 free relay quartet of Schrader, Murphy, Clair and Lee (1:57.49).
Placing third were Schrader in the 200 free (2:28.35) and 100 backstroke (1:13.19), and Clair in the 500 free (7:33.87).
Clair was fourth in the 50 free, and Sydney Shoen added a pair of fifths in the 100 and 200 free.
Owego (0-3) travels to Norwich next Tuesday.
