ENDICOTT — Owego’s Gabe Snyder won the pole vault competition at the Section IV Division II state qualifier Wednesday.
Snyder cleared 13-10 to win the division and was second overall. The next closest challenger in D-2 was six inches behind him.
The Indians’ Jace Stuart was one spot out of a state trip, placing third in the 3200 run with a time of 9:52.37. The top two finishers in each division in individual events advance to states. He took sixth overall.
Caleb Hoover launched a fourth-place finish in the D-2 discus, landing a toss of 129-10. He was seventh overall.
The Indians’ Evan Wasielewski had a time of 17.18 seconds in the 110 hurdles and 1:05.87 in the 400 hurdles.
Sam Cunningham cleared 10-6 in the pole vault.
Newark Valley’s Logan Rhodes finished 10th in the pole vault, clearing a height of 11-6.
Also representing the Panthers is Pavel Jofre. He sits in ninth place after three events. His best showing came in the shot put, where he took sixth.
Day 2 of the state qualifiers begins at 5 p.m.
