Tioga County Sports ReportNEWARK VALLEY — Newark Valley landed a pair of runner-up finishes and four thirds in Section IV Class C track & field action Tuesday.
Three of those honors went to throwers as the Cardinals’ Kylee Carrier was the runner-up in the shot put with a heave of 34-2 ¼ and third in the discus with a throw of 94-6, and Dan Truesdail finished third in shot at 39-11.
The other runner-up was Kathryn Simmons in the long jump with a leap of 15-8 ¾.
Harley Switzer was third in the 3000-meter run with a time of 11:59.71 and the quartet of Titus Callahan, Logan Rhodes, Jackson Hoover and Marcos Escalante teamed up to place third in the 4x800 relay, clocking 9:01.25.
