TIOGA COUNTY — Today’s busy 9-event calendar features several notable clashes, none greater than a preview to a potential Section IV Class B boys soccer championship game between Owego and Lansing.

There is also a soccer doubleheader on schedule with the Waverly teams heading to Candor, a volleyball match between Newark Valley and S-VE, and the Owego boys golfers facing Seton Catholic.

BOYS GOLF
Owego (4-1) at Seton Catholic (3-1), 4 p.m.: The Indians compete against Vestal (6-2) and the Saints at Traditions.

BOYS SOCCER
Lansing (7-0) at Owego (6-0), 4:30 p.m.: The defending Section IV Class B champion Indians host the Bobcats, currently ranked 19th by the New York State Sportswriters Association.

Waverly (3-2) at SVEC (5-1), 6:30 p.m.: The Eagles are coming off a shutout of state-ranked Trumansburg and have won four straight while the Wolverines are riding a two-game win streak.

FIELD HOCKEY
Walton (4-4) at SVEC (1-6), 4:30 p.m.: The Eagles look to break a recent slump while the Warriors are coming off an 8-0 rout of Ellenville.

GIRLS SOCCER
Newark Valley (6-0) at Elmira Notre Dame (2-1), 7 p.m.: The Cardinals visit the Lady Crusaders, who dropped a 3-1 decision to Watkins Glen Saturday. 

Waverly (5-0) at Candor (1-3-1), 4:30 p.m.: The Eagles and Wolverines kick off a doubleheader between the two schools.

GIRLS TENNIS
Owego (1-4) at Chenango Forks (3-4), 5:30 p.m.: Forks defeated the Indians, 5-1, back in August.

VOLLEYBALL
S-VE (2-1) at Newark Valley (0-2), 6:30 p.m.: The Cardinals are seeking their first win. The Panthers are coming off a sweep of Edison.

Watkins Glen (0-1) at Candor (0-1), 6:30 p.m.: The Indians have had two of their three matches postponed. Both teams have lost to the same opponent, Tioga.
