CANDOR — The SVEC boys soccer team picked up a big win here Friday, handing previously unbeaten Trumansburg, ranked No. 10 in the state in Class C, a 1-0 defeat in IAC action.
Jacob Banks scored the lone goal, giving the Eagles a 1-0 halftime lead, and the defense made it stand.
SVEC outshot T-burg, 11-9, and held a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
The Eagles’ Kody Goble and the Blue Raiders’ Jackson Riggons-George made four saves apiece.
SVEC (5-1) hosts Waverly Monday as part of a doubleheader featuring the girls teams. The boys game follows the girls game at about 6:30 p.m.
