OWEGO — Owego Robinson parlayed nine hits and 14 walks into an 18-4 victory over Maine-Endwell Brinsko in “C” Division action at the Owego Little League 10U Tournament at Hyde Park Wednesday.
With the win Owego finishes 3-0 in pool play and takes the top seed into bracket play, which begins Saturday.
M-E pushed a run across in the top of the first, but the lead wouldn’t last long as Owego plated a half-dozen runs in its half of the inning.
The Robinson crew added four more in the second and tacked on another eight in the third.
In the first, Jaxson Weaver, Remmington Morgan, Theodore Robinson and Dalton Marsh stroked singles while Gavin Harrington, Nolan Whigham, Gavin Sipe and Kaden Kacmar drew walks. Harrington, Weaver, Whigham, Morgan, Sipe and Robinson scored.
Morgan’s triple highlighted the second inning hitting, scoring Weaver and Whigham. Weaver reached base via a base hit which plated Chandler Serfass, who had walked. Whigham was also issued a base on balls. Austin Gregory made it 10-1 with an RBI single that brought Morgan home.
The M-E pitching staff struggled in the third with six consecutive walks starting off the Owego run barrage. Then, following an RBI single from Weaver and a two-run single by Whigham, Owego picked up two more walks before an out could be recorded.
Maxx Thole, Kacmar, Marsh, Tanner Barrett, Serfass, Harrington, Morgan and Gregory received the walks with Barrett, Serfass and Harrington being credited with an RBI apiece.
Meanwhile, Weaver and Kacmar combined to pitch a two-hit gem. Weaver recorded seven strikeouts over three innings and earned the win while Kacmar struck out two.
Weaver was also 3-for-3 with his bat, scoring three runs and driving in three more. Morgan went 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
Whigham had a hit, three runs and two RBI; Gregory contributed a hit and three RBI; Harrington scored two runs and drove in another; Robinson and Marsh chipped in with a hit, run and RBI apiece; Barrett added a run and RBI; Serfass scored twice; and Kacmar, Sipe and Thole each tacked on a run.

Owego opened pool play with a shutout. Additional results were not available.
TUESDAY
Owego 12, U-E Gennarelli 11
Owego built a 12-1 cushion, then held off Union-Endicott’s torrid comeback attempt.
Gregory’s two-run triple highlighted a five-run first inning, which saw Weaver, Morgan and Whigham smacked base hits as well.
Harrington and Gregory cranked out doubles in the second as Owego built a 12-1 advantage. Weaver and Whigham had one single each. Owego picked up six walks as well.
Pwego scored a run in the third to make it 13-1, but the score was changed to 12-1 in the top of the fourth.
U-E made it a game with a seven-run uprising in the bottom of the fourth, closing the gap to 12-8.
An RBI double, a steal of home and a run-scoring ground out trimmed the lead to 12-11 with two away in U-E’s final at-bats, but Morgan struck out the final batter to earn the save. Robinson got the win, striking out six over three innings.
Gregory accounted for three of Owego’s 10 hits, going 3-for-3 with two runs and four RBI. Harrington was 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI; Whigham went 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBI; and Weaver was 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Morgan added a hit, two runs and an RBI; Serfass scored twice; Marsh added a run; and Kacmar and Thole drove in one run apiece.
