STAC MODIFIED TRACK & FIELD: OWEGO COMPETES WITH VARSITY COUNTERPARTS (2022-05-09)

OWEGO — The Owego modified track & field teams competed with the varsity in a rainy triangular against Seton Catholic and Vestal April 26.

The girls scored 66 points to Vestal’s 46 and 22 for Seton. Vestal won the boys meet with 70, Owego scored 37 and Seton had zero.

GIRLS
The Indians swept the top four spots in the 55-meter hurdles. Taylor Signs won the event in 12 seconds flat, followed by Lauren Williams (:13.0), Emma Coyne (:13.2) and Myla Yartz (:13.2).

Owego also swept the top four spots in the shot put. Olivia Schrader was first (23-11), Ailish Munson (19-5 3/4) second, Elizabeth Williams (19-5 1/2) third and Yartz (18-3) fourth.

Lauren Williams won the 200 hurdles in 30.7 seconds and Taylor Signs was the runner-up in 40.7 seconds.

Elizabeth Williams won the discus with a throw of 46-9 and Yartz was second at 46-5. Sydney Shoen took fourth (21-3).

Lily May won the high jump, clearing 3-10, and Emma Coyne was second at 3-8

Maddison Webb captured the long jump at 12 feet.

Signs won the triple jump with a 21-4.

Aubrey Garrison placed third in the 200 (:33.3), CC Claire was fourth in the 100 (:17.4) and Munson was fourth in the 400 (1:18.6).

BOYS
Liam Bell won the 800 in 2:59.5 and the long jump with a leap of 12-5.

Max Thompson captured the 55 hurdles in 11.4 seconds.

Caden Wasielewski took the high jump, clearing 4-2.

Bell was the runner-up in the 100 (:14.7), Wasielewski was second in the 800 (3:02.2) and Aden Dupois was second in the long jump (12-3 ½).

Ephraim Doty finished third in the shot put (22-4 ½) and Thompson was third in the discus (48-3).

Javan Belakor took fourth in the 1500 (6:13.2), Bell claimed fourth in the 400 (1:10) and Connor Riegel was fourth in the discus (48-1). Owego also placed fourth in the 200 in 39.9 seconds (no name listed).
