IAC GIRLS TRACK & FIELD: NEWARK VALLEY'S RIEGEL, WILLIAMS LEAD LOCALS AT LEAGUE MEET (2021-06-02)

TRUMANSBURG — Newark Valley's Renee Riegel and Leah Williams claimed individual titles at the IAC Girls Track & Field Championships here Wednesday.

Riegel won the 2,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:14.75 while Williams took the triple jump with a leap of 33-10.

Williams tacked on a third-place effort in the long jump, hitting 15-2.25, and Riegel added a fifth in the 800, clocking 2:43.32.

Following are results for other local athletes who placed in the top 10.

CANDOR
Kara Morse placed fourth in the high jump, clearing 4-6.

Mya Marsh finished eighth in the 200 in 28.74 seconds.

Olivia Bennett registered a ninth-place showing in the 800 in 3:05.28.

Jenna O'Connell took 10th in the 1500, clocking 5:57.81.

The Indians finished ninth in the 4x100 relay (1:00.01).

NEWARK VALLEY
Rosie Hines claimed fourth in the steeplechase in 11:03.14.

Kathryn Simmons was the runner-up in the 400 hurdles in 1:12.54 and took fourth in the 100 hurdles in 18.32 seconds.

Emma Smith claimed fifth in the 3,000, posting a time of 13:10.27.

Maris Aylesworth took fifth in the long jump at 14-10.75 and seventh in the 200 with a time of 28.69 seconds.

Charlotte Dunn finished sixth in the pole vault at 7-6.

Molly McCloskey came in seventh in the 800 in 2:57.75.

Harley Switzer finished seventh in the 1500 with a time of 5:47.22.

In the 3,000, Monica Escalante was eighth in 14:06.03.

Ashley Holt was ninth in the 400 hurdles in 1:20.95.

The Cardinals placed third in the 4x800 relay (11:48.47), fourth in the 4x400 relay (4:32.37) and sixth in the 4x100 relay (:58.12).

S-VE
Greta Paasch garnered fifth place in the 400, clocking 1:06.3.

Bella Young placed sixth in the discus with a toss of 71-3 and was ninth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 20.76 seconds.

Olivia Secondo was seventh in the 3,000 with a time of 13:55.9.

Demi Mouillesseaux took ninth in the 200 in 29.14 seconds and 10th in the triple jump, leaping 29-8.5.

The Panthers came in fifth in the 4x100 relay in 56.82 seconds.
