TIOGA COUNTY — There's just one event on a light schedule as the Owego wrestlers host Tioga in an IAC mat battle.
The Tigers are two-time defending Section IV Division II dual meet champions and boast a strong line-up throughout most of their roster — to include five returning state qualifiers, four of whom reached the podium last year.
Owego brings back a state bronze medalist and a handful of potential state qualifiers (had New York not canceled the state championships this year).
Tioga rode falls and forfeits to an impressive 63-9 victory over Waverly in its season opener while the Indians escaped with a 31-30 criteria tie-breaker win against Edison. Owego had several grapplers out of action for the dual meet.
The match begins at 5:30 p.m. and can be seen on https://www.youtube.com/user/OwegoYouSchools and www.nfhsnetwork.com.
