IAC BOYS BASKETBALL: NEWARK VALLEY FALLS TO RESURGENT TIOGA (2020-02-08)

TIOGA CENTER — Tioga remained unbeaten in February, winning for the third time this month, 48-34, over Newark Valley in an IAC South crossover contest here Saturday.

The Cardinals grabbed the early edge as Raidyn Ford scored seven points to create an 11-10 lead. Donavin Beebe had the other four.

The Tigers' Sam Taylor, who had six points in the first period, and Thomas Cook had four points each in the second as the home team doubled up NV to grab a 28-14 lead at the break.

Taylor scored five more in the third quarter and tacked on another five in the final frame to finish with a game-high 20 points.

Ethan Perry scored six points in the fourth quarter. He finished the game with eight while Derrick Gage and Caleb Allen added six points each.

Beebe led NV with 10 points and Ford had seven.

The Cardinals (2-13) host division leader Watkins Glen (14-2) Monday night.
