NEWARK VALLEY — Newark Valley poured in the points on offense and shut down Dryden on defense en route to a 79-6 IAC Large School crossover rout here Thursday evening.
The Cardinals scored 20 or more points in each of the first three periods, leading 21-0 after a quarter and 41-1 at the half.
All 11 players scored for 19th-ranked NV as it pushed its unblemished record to 11-0.
Bri Beebe score 16 points, which included a pair of 3-pointers, to lead the way while Makenna Nechwedowich contributed 13 points, five blocks and three assists. Gracie Gardner added eight points, seven rebounds and two blocks; Sarah Mertson chipped in with eight points and six boards; and Allie Wandell recorded seven points, seven rebounds, three assists and a block.
Allison Walker had six points and six boards; Kendra Morris had five points, six boards and four steals; Makana Gardner tallied five points, five boards, three steals and a block; and Liz Ferguson had five points and three steals; Hannah Ferguson had four points and three assists; and Taylor Benjamin tacked on two points.
Newark Valley hosts Marathon Tuesday.
