ENDICOTT —  Owego (Gregory) split a pair of games Saturday at the U-E 10U Tournament, defeating Windsor, 15-3, before falling to U-E (Schrader), 14-1.

Owego put the game out of reach with a seven-run outburst in the bottom of the third inning.

Rocco Canfield highlighted the inning with an RBI-double. Benjamin Mikels contributed a two-run single and Cayden Smith had an RBI-single.  Owego also took advantage of five walks and an error in the inning.

Owego led 3-1 after one inning and 8-2 after the second.

Canfield finished the game 3-for-3 with a double, run and three RBI, and Brenden Whigham went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and two RBI.  

Dylan Gregory went 1-for-2 with three runs and two RBI; Mikels was 1-for-2 with a run and two RBI; and Smith was 1-for-3 with a run and three RBI. 

Hayden Blenco, Ryan Diedrich and Beckett Tirinato scored two runs apiece, and Nolan Card added a run.

Canfield picked up the win, striking out five. He surrendered one earned run on three hits and four walks.

U-E 14, Owego 1

U-E tallied five runs in the bottom of the first, and five more in the third to pull away.

Owego picked up its run in the fourth after Whigham led off with a double, moved to third on Canfield’s single and tallied on a walk to Tirinato.

Gregory, Whigham and Canfield had the Owego hits.

U-E posted earned runs, and had six hits and nine walks.
