
OWEGO — Owego put five runs in the bottom of the first inning and four more in the third to roll to an 11-2 victory over the Thunder in Tri County Teener League playoff action Wednesday.
Down 1-0, Owego erupted for five straight runs to take control of the game.
Ethan Perry doubled and later stole home to tie the score at one; and Bradley Palmer singled and stole two bases on the way to giving the host a 2-1 lead.
Daniel Schofield walked, stole second and scored; Jack Rollison singled and scored; and Nate Armstrong belted a triple and tallied the fifth run.
Ben Rollison added a single and stolen base in the inning.
Owego expanded its advantage to 9-1 in the third.
Palmer singled, stole second and scored; Jack Rollison and Ethan English both singled and scored; and Ben Rollison singled, stole second and scored.
The Thunder plated a run in the top of the fifth, but Owego countered in the bottom of the inning. Schofield was hit by a pitch and eventually stole home to build a 10-2 cushion.
Owego added a run for good measure in the sixth when Palmer reached base, then stole two bases before putting the final run in the book.
English and Palmer combined to check the Thunder batters, scattering eight hits throughout the game.
Owego plays for the 14A championship Saturday at noon at Sertoma in Endicott.
