ODESSA — Newark Valley's Kayla Malarkey won the IAC Girls Pentathlon championship here Monday.
The Cardinal junior totaled 1,864 points in the 100-meter hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot put and 800 run.
Malarkey topped a field which included nine competitors from Watkins Glen, Newfield, Newark Valley, Union Springs, Elmira Notre Dame and Trumansburg.
In the boys competition, Odessa-Montour junior Paden Grover took first place with 2,727 points.
