MORAVIA — Madison Sousa belted a grand slam in the third inning to highlight S-VE’s 15-11 IAC Division 2 victory over Moravia here Monday.
The blast came during a seven-run uprising in which Jillian Jackman contributed a two-run single with the bases stoked as well.
“They gave us some walks in that inning and a couple key hits,†said S-VE head coach Ron Miller. “Their pitcher was doing OK, then she got wild a little bit that inning and the next.â€
Abby Kellogg smacked a triple for the Panthers.
Shannon Connor and Abby Brock provided key hits in the sixth.
Rhianna Lawrence and Leah Watkins combined to lead S-VE in the circle.
The game was a contrast in scoring compared to the first meeting, a 4-1 win for the Panthers.
S-VE (4-4) hosts Tioga (6-2) at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
