Tioga County Sports ReportBINGHAMTON — Newark Valley highlighted the efforts of a trio of Tioga County teams which placed among the top three at the Section IV Competitive Cheerleading Championships held Feb. 28 at Chenango Valley High School.
The Cardinals scored 51.15 points to place second in Class D, less than one point behind champion Seton Catholic, which had 51.5 points. Tioga placed third with 50.4 points and Marathon was fourth with 36.6.
Waverly placed third in Class C with 41.95 points. Chenango Valley won the class with 65.6 and Whitney Point was the runner-up at 44.2.
Union-Endicott won Class A with 66.75 points, Horseheads took Class B with the top overall score, 84.15 points. Oneonta claimed the Co-ed division.
