Tioga County Sports ReportWAVERLY — Candor’s Calli Marsh and Newark Valley’s Rachel Hartman have qualified for the 2026 NYSPHSAA Bowling Championships as members of the Section IV Girls Composite team.
Marsh rolled a nine-game 1556 series while Hartman posted a 1550.
The results are tabulated by totalling scores from last week’s sectionals with morning and afternoon series which were bowled during the state qualifier Saturday at Valley Bowling Center here.
Hartman scored a 560 at sectionals, then added a 553 and 437 at the qualifier. Her morning score included a 233 game.
Marsh came into the qualifier with a 464, then boosted her scores with a 542 and a 550. She registered a high game of 213 in her afternoon opener.

Tioga’s Kelsey Helmich and Groton’s Madelyn Pitts made the Composite team also, giving the IAC four of the six state qualifiers. Helmich was the top Composite team bowler with a 1759 total. The other two team members are from the Midstate Athletic Conference.
STAC powerhouse Windsor won the Division 2 team title.
Other Candor bowlers included Zoe Travis with a 1347, Kyrsten Jackson (1188), Allison Johnston (1169), Teresa Kern-Schneider with a 687 (did not compete at sectionals) and Makenna Nixon with a 388 (did not participate in the qualifier).
Additional bowlers for NV were Abigal Dufresne with a 1304, Brook Illsley (1232), MaeAnna Jackson (1180) and Abigail DeBolt (1147).
The Girls Composite state tournament will be held at AMF Syracuse Lanes on March 13.
