BINGHAMTON — Michaela Daly placed third and Lauren Kotski finished fifth to highlight the Owego effort at the Section IV Girls Wrestling Championships at Visions Veterans Memorial Arena here Friday.
Daly, competing at 114 pounds, pinned Aaliyah Schaff of Chenango Forks in 1:48 and SVEC’s Taylor Zufall in 3:39. She lost to eventual champion Isabella Phelps of Sidney by a 10-0 tech. fall. She bounced back with a pin of Elmira’s Addison White in 3:42 and Whitney Point’s Colleen Hilderbrant in 1:18.
Kotski, wrestling at 138, lost her first bout by fall in 1:06 to Atlantis Cherry of Elmira. She came back with a fall over Tioga’s Cora Szymanski in 1:21, a pin of Susquehanna Valley’s Kealan Kinney in 26 seconds and a fall against Groton’s Chloe Bishop in 4:58. After falling to Chenango Forks’ Tori Reh bay pin in 1:06, she pinned Waverly’s Jillianna Presher in 2:13 in the fifth-place bout.
Ashlee Crawford-Bauer (107) went 2-2. She pinned Deposit/Hancock’s Germania Vivar in 39 seconds and Newark Valley’s Nora McCann in 1:30.
Carissa Chandler (126), Tatum Kowalski (132) and Mikenna Wilbur (138) all went 1-2.
Chandler posted a fall over Sus Valley’s Alaina Judy in 35 seconds, Kowalski dispatched Corning’s Peyton Knapp in 22 seconds and Wilbur decked Corning’s Evelyn VanCamp in 44 seconds.
Also competing for the River Hawks was Izzy Taylor at 152.
