Tioga County Sports ReportALFRED, N.Y. — Newark Valley grad Taylor Benjamin eclipsed 1,000 career points as Alfred State College defeated Hilbert, 74–60, on Jan. 22.
The senior guard now has 1,052 points, including 238 this season.
Benjamin scored 225 points as a freshman, then flirted with 300 the next two seasons. She scored 294 as a sophomore and 295 last season.
Her career stats include 112 3-pointers, 679 rebounds, 206 assists, 158 steals and 59 blocked shots. She has also gone 228-for-362 at the free throw line.
Alfred is 7-4 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference and 12-8 overall. The Pioneers host Pitt-Bradford on Wednesday.
