Tioga County Sports ReportITHACA — Owego’s Abigail McHugh and Gavin Heath were victorious at the Finger Lakes Invitational held at Cornell University’s Barton Hall here Sunday.
McHugh won the girls 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:12.94 while Heath took the boys 600 in 1:24.52.
Jaelyn Chrysler finished third in the girls 3,000, clocking 11:38.67.
Sarah Heath added a 12rh-place effort in the girls 600 with a time of 1:55.48.
In the boys meet, Ryker Chrysler crossed the finish line 20th with a time of 1:35.73.
Both the boys and girls 4x800 relay teams placed among the top four in their respective races. The boys quartet of Magavin Allen, Javan Belokur, Ryker Chrysler and Heath finished third with a time of 8:58.17 and the girls foursome of Stella Palladino, Jaelyn Chrysler, Sarah Heath and McHugh took fourth in 10:43.22.
Both relays hold the top Division II times heading into the Section IV state qualifier which will be held Feb. 20 at Ithaca College.
