Tioga County Sports ReportSPENCER — Harpursville jumped out to a 24-15 first-quarter advantage and ran away from Spencer-Van Etten for a 67-45 victory in boys non-league basketball action Wednesday.
Jayden Deleon, who eclipsed the 1,000-point mark earlier this month, scored 13 of his 36 points in the first quarter to give the Hornets a 24-15 lead.
Harpursville led, 36-26, at halftime, then put the game away by outscoring the Panthers 21-9 in the third period.
Deleon knocked down five 3-pointers on the night and went 5-for-6 at the free throw line. Xander Quick added a dozen points and Liam Donahue chipped in with a pair of threes.
Luukas Carling paced the Panther with 17 points and Jackson Bennett tacked on another 10. Nevin Mack added six points, Nick Oakes chipped in with a pair of three-balls, Keith Hills had four points and Noah Ingram contributed two more.
S-VE travels to Moravia Friday.
