Tioga County Sports ReportNEWARK VALLEY — Devon Green rolled a 637 series and Rachel Hartman shot a 533 as the Newark Valley bowling teams swept Groton at Cardinal Lanes here Thursday.
“Some noticeable performances for the boys were Devon Green with a 637 series, his first 600 series this year,” coach Cody Cornell said. “I am hopeful that Devon starts to take off at this point in the year and can continue his performance heading into IACs and sectionals.
“Other noticeable performances were Will Simmons with a 209, John Sloughter with a 217, Reese Illsley with a 167, and Kaleb Jackson with a 157. All of those games are significantly above each respective bowler’s averages.
“The girls games did not have any abnormally high scores, however, they managed to bowl consistently at or near their average, which was great to see. Of course I love seeing high games for the girls, however, as we move towards the end of the season, consistency and hitting their average every time is important. I am pleased with their performance and ability to bowl at their average during match conditions.”
