SPENCER — The Spencer-Van Etten JV girls basketball team won back-to-back Iac crossover games, defeating Southern Cayuga, 23-6, on Monday and Dryden, 25-20, on Tuesday.
S-VE 23, SC 6
S-VE blanked the Falcons in the second and third quarters en route to victory.
The Panthers led, 6-0, after one period and 13-2 at the half. They added a 7-0 run in the third quarter.
Cloey Adams led the charge with eight points, including two 3-pointers. Maddy Gentile nailed one trey and finished with seven points, and Rylee Silvernail added six points. Leah Neish tacked on one basket.
S-VE 25, Dryden 20
The Panthers shut out Dryden in the first quarter, 8-0, but the Purple Lions rallied to close the gap to 10-7 at halftime and tied the score at 13 heading into the final frame.
Five S-VE players scored in the fourth quarter, led by Gentile with four points and Silvernail with three.
Gentile scored a game-high 10 points to go with five steals, four rebounds and one assist. Silvernail recorded three points, five steals, two boards and an assist; Mackenzie Rose had three points, five boards and four steals; and Adams added three points, three steals and three rebounds.
Neish chipped in with two points and two steals; Lillie Horyczun had two points and a steal; Thea Kastenhuber contributed two points; and Dev Lau tacked on a steal.
S-VE improved to 6-2 on the season.
