UNION SPRINGS — State-ranked Union Springs poured in 40 points in the first quarter on its way to a 92-27 rout of Spencer-VanEtten here Friday night in IAC boys basketball crossover action.
Rocco Testa pumped in 20 points in the first eight minutes as the Wolves raced out to a 40-14 lead.
Union Springs turned up the defensive intensity in the second quarter and used a 19-0 blitz to up its lead to 59-14 heading into the halftime locker room.
The Wolverines led 80-18 after three quarters.
Keith Hills led S-VE with seven points, while Zane Showerman had six points, and Noah Ingram added five points.
The Panthers again played without leading scorer Luukas Carling.
Union Springs, ranked 18th in Class C, was paced by Testa's 32 points, while Nevin Brown added 14 points, and Cooper Dechick chipped in with 11.
S-VE returns to action Tuesday at O-M.
