Tioga County Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY — The winter sports season takes a pause for Christmas this week, but will pick up steam for a few days at the end of the week leading into New Year's break next week.
There are seven events on the docket this week, with five of them on Saturday.
The following are all of the home varsity events this week, and a few of the notable road events:
MONDAY (1)
• SVEC is in action at the Mark Cody Wrestling Duals at Binghamton High School.
TUESDAY (1)
• Newark Valley hosts Norwich in non-league girls basketball action.
WEDNESDAY
There are no games on the schedule.
THURSDAY
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
FRIDAY
There are no games on the schedule.
SATURDAY (5)
• The SVEC girls wrestling team is at the Frosty Freestyle Festival at Midlakes High School.
• The Candor boys and girls, and the Owego girls basketball teams are playing in opening-round action of the Athens Holiday Tournament.
• The Owego boys will play U-E at the Visions Federal Credit Union Arena in the Coaches vs. Cancer Showcase.
