ELMIRA HEIGHTS — The Newark Valley boys and girls both recorded sweeps of Thomas A. Edison Monday to improve to 8-0 on the season in IAC bowling action.

BOYS
Newark Valley 4, Edison 0

Devon Green rolled a 619 series on games of 244, 214, and 161 to lead the Cardinals to a sweep of Thomas A. Edison Monday at Dixie Lanes.

The Cardinals won the total-pinfall count of 2,280 to 1,875.

Mason Peck shot a 439 for Newark Valley, while John Sloughter had a 433, and Will Simmons added a 405. Kaleb Jackson and Reese Illsley chipped in with series of 358 and 351, respectively.

Hunter Buchanan led Edison with a 430 series.

Newark Valley 4, Unions Springs 0

Devon Green and John Sloughter led the Cardinals to a season-opening sweep of Union Springs at Cardinal Lanes Nov. 25.

Newark Valley won the total-pinfall count by a tally of 2,413 to 1,376 over the short-handed Wolves.

Green rolled a 576 series, including a high game of 225, while Sloughter shot a 546 series, and William Simmons had a 485.

Mason Peck added a 401 series, while Reese Illsley added a 400, and Kaleb Jackson tacked on a 351.

GIRLS
Newark Valley 4, Edison 0

Newark Valley earned four wins in a forfeit from Thomas A. Edison at Dixie Lanes Monday.

Abigail Dufresne led the Cardinals with a 509 series, while Brook Illsley rolled a 470, and Rachel Hartman added a 453.

Maeanna Jackson had a 388 for NV, and Abigail DeBolt tacked on a 353.

Rachel Hartman led Newark Valley to a season-opening sweep of short-handed Union Springs on Nov. 25.

The Cardinals won the total-pinfall count of 2,181 to 1,062.

Hartman shot a 533, including a high game of 191, while Abigail DeBolt rolled a 448, Abigail Dufresne had a 410, Brook Illsley added a 406, and MaeAnna Jackson tacked on a 384.

Newark Valley returns to action Thursday when it hosts O-M.
