Tioga County Sports ReportNACOGDOCHES, Tx. — Newark Valley senior Cha Gardner, a sophomore on the Division I Stephen F. Austin women's basketball team, continued her solid play in the early-going with a season-high 13 points in an 82-78 win over Houston Monday night.
Gardner was 5 of 8 from the field, including her first 3-pointer of the season. She had six rebounds, one assist, and one steal to go along with her 13 points in 23 minutes.
On the season, the 6-3 Gardner is averaging 8.5 points, 7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1 steal, and 0.8 blocks per game in four games. She is averaging 21.8 minutes per game, and is shooting 58.3 percent from the field.
SFA, now 4-0, returns to action Sunday at Louisiana Tech.
