Tioga County Sports ReportNEWARK VALLEY — Newark Valley's high-scoring senior Elijah WIlliams, and defensive stalwart junior Vince Finta were named IAC South Small School Divisional all-stars, while four of their teammates earned second-team honors.
Seniors Austin Green and Mike Wandell, junior Aiden Alger, and sophomore Gavin Cross McMahorn were second-team picks for the Cardinals.
Odessa-Montour senior Riley Yaw and junior Ethan Nolan were named divisional co-MVPs.
FIRST TEAM
Elijah Williams, senior, Newark Valley: Fast with top-notch foot skills, Williams scored 17 goals and dished out five assists.
Vince Finta, junior, Newark Valley: Finta was the a cog in the Cardinal defense.
SECOND TEAM
Aiden Alger, junior, Newark Valley: A facilitator on the pitch, Alger scored four goals and doled out 11 assists.
Austin Green, senior, Newark Valley: Green played a major role on the defensive end of the field for the Cardinals.
Mike Wandell, senior, Newark Valley: Like Green, Wandell was a key piece of the Cardinal defense.
Gavin Cross McMahon, sophomore, Newark Valley: Cross McMahon made an impact in the midfield in his first varsity season for the Cardinals.
