NEW YORK STATE FOOTBALL: TIOGA STILL ATOP CLASS D RANKINGS; WAVERLY 7TH, OWEGO 14TH IN CLASS B (2025-11-13)

TIOGA COUNTY — Tioga's and Waverly's state rankings remain unchanged, and Owego jumped up four spots heading into this weekend's Section IV championship football games at Susquehanna Valley High School.

CLASS D RANKINGS
Tioga, now 9-1 and winners of nine consecutive games, are the top-ranked team in Class D, while their opponent Friday, Trumansburg (7-3) is ranked 10th.

Delhi (7-3) and Deposit-Hancock (7-3) are ranked 12th and 13th, respectively, and Sidney (6-3) and SVEC (6-3) are both honorable mentions.

Section II's Greenwich (9-0), which has allowed 20 points this season, is ranked second, while Section VI's Newfane (10-0), Section III's Lowville (10-0), and Section I'd Tuckahoe (7-1) are ranked third through fifth, respectively.

CLASS B RANKINGS

Waverly (9-1) is ranked seventh in Class B, and their opponent Friday in the Section IV, Class B title game, Owego (7-3), is ranked 14th — jumping up four spots from 18th — after its win over 9th-ranked M-E.

Maine-Endwell (5-4) dropped to 17th in the state after the loss to Owego.

Section V Monroe (8-0) and Section 11's Sayville (9-0) are tied atop the rankings, while Section VIII's Plainedge (9-0) is ranked third, Section III's Hartford (10-) is fourth, and Section II's Glens Falls (10-0) is fifth.

CLASS C RANKINGS
Defending Section IV champ Chenango Forks (9-0) is the top-ranked team in Class C, while their opponent in Saturday's championship game, Oneonta (6-4) is unranked.

Section XI's Babylon (9-0), Section II's Fonda-Fultonville (10-0), Section I'd Bronxville (8-0), and Section VI's Southwestern-Frewsburg (10-0) are ranked second through fifth, respectively.

CLASS AA RANKINGS
Elmira (5-4) is an honorable mention in Class AA.

CLASS A RANKINGS
Union-Endicott (7-2) is ranked 23rd in Class A in the state, and its opponent this week, Horseheads (7-3) is ranked 24th.

Vestal (5-5) is an honorable mention.

8-MAN RANKINGS
Unatego-Franklin-GMU (9-1) is ranked third in the state in 8-man football, and its opponent Friday, Moravia (7-2) is ranked fourth.

Thomas A. Edison (7-2) is ranked sixth.
