Tioga County Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY — Owego senior Javan Belokur won his second straight Section IV, Class B title, while his classmates — Abigail McHugh and Jaelyn Chrysler — and Newark Valley 8th-grader Hadley Merrill also punched their tickets to the N.Y. State Championships. They are the TCSR / Guthrie Community Credit Union "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending Nov. 8.

Belokur won his second Class B title in a row, leading Owego to a second-place finish in the team standings.
Belokur clocked in with a time of 17:03.6 — 39 seconds faster than the runner-up.
He will be joined at States by teammates Magavin Allen and Levi Saunders.

OWEGO'S McHUGH, CHRYSLER NAMED GUTHRIE COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION GIRLS "ATHLETES OF THE WEEK"
Merrill finished second at the Class D Championships to lead the Cardinals to a second-place finish.
Merrill finished in a time of 20:51.8 on the Chenango Valley State Park.
McHugh and Chrysler finished 2-3 in the Class B race to lead the River Hawks to a second-place finish.
McHugh clocked in with a time of 21:00.3, and Chrysler crossed the finish line in 21:04.2,
They will be joined at the State meet by teammates — 8th-grader Sarah Heath and senior Stella Palladino, who finished fifth and seventh, respectively.
