OWEGO'S YOUNG TOP SEED AT FRIDAY'S SECTION IV DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS

ENDWELL — Waverly is the top seed in eight of the 11 events, including all three relays, at the Section IV, Class B Swimming Preliminaries here Wednesday evening at Maine-Endwell High School.
Senior Mira Kittle, who will swim on two relays, is the top seed in two individual events, while freshmen Megan Atanasoff and Natalie Steck and sophomore Lauryn Welles are the top seeds in one event.
Owego sophomore Ayla Young is the top seed in the 1-meter diving competition Friday.
Waverly's 200-yard medley relay is the top seed with a seed time of 1:47.63, which is more than 16 seconds faster than second-seed Maine-Endwell. Owego is the fourth seed at 2:13.33.
Waverly's 200-yard free relay is also the top seed with a seed time of 1:39.49 — about 8 1/2 seconds faster than second-seed Maine-Endwell. Owego is the fifth seed at 1:57.05.
Waverly's 400-yard freestyle relay is the top seed with a seed time of 3:42.12 — more than 18 seconds faster than second-seeded Maine-Endwell. Owego is the seventh seed at 4:27.23.
Kittle is the top seed in the 50-yard freestyle with a seed time of 23.72 seconds, while Atanasoff is the second seed at 24.49 seconds, Welles is the third seed at 25.12 seconds, and Waverly senior Olivia Cheresnowsky is the fourth seed at 26.33 seconds.
Owego freshman Maliah McMillen is the 11th seed in the 50 free with a seed time of 29.3 seconds, and Owego junior Cecilia Clair is the 13th seed at 29.48 seconds.
Kittle is also the top seed in the 100-yard backstroke with a seed time of 57.44 seconds, while Cheresnowsky is the second seed at 1:01.05, and Waverly freshman Brynna Twedt is the sixth seed at 1:10.22. McMillen is the 10th seed at 1:14.88, Waverly freshman Ayla Wheeler is the 11th seed at 1:15.19, and Owego sophomore Sawyer Pratt is the 12th seed at 1:15.4.
Atanasoff is the top seed in the 100-yard butterfly with a seed time of 1:01.5, while Owego junior Ava Murphy is the second seed at 1:02.93, and Waverly senior Elizabeth Robinson is the sixth seed at 1:09.61. Clair is the 11th seed at 1:23.91.
Welles is the top seed in the 100-yard freestyle with a seed time of 54.94 seconds, and Waverly freshman Audrey Kellogg is the second seed at 56.43 seconds, while Twedt is the fifth seed at 1:00.14, Wheeler is the ninth seed at 1:02.23, and Pratt is the 14th seed at 1:05.18.
Steck is the top seed in the 100-yard breaststroke with a seed time of 1:11.26, and Owego freshman Reese Hunt is the 14th seed at 1:30.15.
Young is the top seed in the 1-meter diving competition with a seed score of 548.5 points, and M-E's Leah Rozelle is the second seed at 397.15 points.
Murphy is the fifth seed in the 200-yard freestyle with a seed time of 2:08.0, while Kellogg is the seventh seed at 2:12.19, and Robinson is eighth at 2:14.31.
The start time for the Class B prelims is 5 p.m.
