TIOGA COUNTY — The soccer postseason gets under way this week with SVEC (the only boys team in all of Tioga County, and the only soccer team in the TCSR coverage area to qualify) in action, while the IAC volleyball and STAC cross country championships are also on the slate, as well as a rare Thursday night football game.

There are 10 events on the docket this week, including four on Friday, and the final regular-season volleyball matches and swim meet.

The following are all of the home varsity events this week, and a few of the notable road events:

MONDAY (1)
•  Unbeaten Candor hosts arch-rival Tioga on the volleyball hardwoods in the regular-season finale for both teams.

TUESDAY (1)

•  S-VE volleyball hosts Dryden in the regular-season finale.

WEDNESDAY (1)
•  Owego and Waverly will swim at Greene in a rare girls tri-meet.

THURSDAY (2)
•  SVEC football hosts Groton on the gridiron.

•  Owego volleyball hosts Windsor.

FRIDAY (4)
•  Newark Valley hosts Trumansburg on the gridiron.

•  Owego football hits the road to Johnson City.

•  SVEC opens the Section IV, Class B soccer playoffs at Susquehanna Valley.

•  Candor plays for another IAC Small School volleyball title at Tompkins-Cortland Community College.

SATURDAY (1)
•  Owego will run at the STAC Cross Country Championships at Union-Endicott.
