Tioga County Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY — The fall season is winding down, and in turn, the schedules are lightening up for the Tioga County teams.
There are 21 events on the document this week, including five each on Tuesday and Thursday.
The following are all of the home varsity events this week, and a few of the notable road events:
MONDAY (1)
• SVEC hosts Tioga in an IAC boys soccer match-up at Candor High School at 11 a.m.
TUESDAY (5)
• Owego volleyball hosts division rival Waverly.
• SVEC field hockey hosts Tioga County rival Newark Valley.
• Newark Valley hosts U-E in a non-league boys soccer match.
• The Owego boys host Windsor on the soccer pitch.
WEDNESDAY (4)
• Newark Valley volleyball is on the road at Thomas A. Edison.
THURSDAY (5)
• Owego volleyball hosts Seton Catholic.
• SVEC hosts Sidney in a Section IV field hockey match-up.
• Newark Valley field hockey is on the road at Tioga County arch-rival Tioga.
• Owego field hockey hosts Afton-Harpursville.
FRIDAY (4)
• SVEC hosts Newark Valley in a Section IV, Division VII football contest.
• Candor volleyball hosts Union Springs.
• Newark Valley volleyball hosts Tioga on the hardwoods.
• S-VE volleyball hosts Newfield.
SATURDAY (2)
• Owego hosts Waverly in a key Section IV, Division III football match-up.
• S-VE, Candor and Owego will run at the Marathon Cross Country Invite.
